This is a real-time environment, running in Unreal Engine 4, of a 1940s era detective's office. It over 12 weeks using 3DS Max for the models and Substance Designer for the materials - as well as the Unreal Editor, of course. The aim was to create a realistic-looking environment and it is easily the most ambitious environmental project I have ever undertaken. I enjoyed it more than I expected to and really liked weaving a second-hand narrative into the scene, in the form of world-building through object-placement and narrative elements such as the case-files.

The project involved creating a 3D character, the first time I had attempted such, from conception to completion. It took us through all elements of the pipeline, including the initial design, the basic game-mesh, the high-poly sculpt, the low-poly game-mesh, the texturing process (including baking normal maps), rigging, skinning, posing and rendering.

The project involved creating a low poly car and diner, with limited tri-count and texture space. The interior had to be developed as well, with the same poly-limit covering all 25 unique props.
