My Digital Artwork
This is the 2D digital art that I have completed as part of my current Games Design University course, my previous College course or in my free-time.

"Red Dead Raphael"This is an illustration that I completed in Adobe Flash. It is part of a collection that I am creating in my free-time, entitled "Rock-star Turtles." The image itself combines the game "Red Dead Redemption" with the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." This particular image includes Raphael in the pose as that of John Marston on the "Red Dead Redemption" cover art. It also features the silhouette of Master Splinter in the background, in the place where the silhouetted cowboys are on the original cover.
"Mike Payne 3"This is an illustration that I completed in Adobe Flash. It is part of a collection that I am creating in my free-time, entitled "Rock-star Turtles." The image itself combines the game "Max Payne 3" with the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." This particular image shows Michelangelo, April O'Neil and Casey Jones in the same poses as the characters on the box art of "Max Payne 3".
"Leo Noire"This is an illustration that I completed in Adobe Flash. It is part of a collection that I am creating in my free-time, entitled "Rock-star Turtles." The image itself combines the game "L.A. Noire" with the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." This particular image depicts Leonardo in the same pose as Cole Phelps on the cover image of "L.A. Noire", as well as including Karai - a supporting character on the 2003 "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" show - in the background where a dead woman is shown on the original cover.
"Indian Temple & Shrine"This is a piece of detailed concept art completed as part of my college course. We were each assigned a random continent and were tasked with creating a concept art piece for a fighting game stage set in that continent. I didn't wan to be obvious and set my scene in China, so after some research I decided to set it in an Indian Jungle. The focus is on the temple and shrine in the foreground, with the Himalayan mountain range in the background. I'm really fond of this piece, and I especially like the lighting effects which add a lot of 'realism' (even though the piece is still sightly stylized.) The juxtaposition of the warm orange flame and the cool white/blue moon makes the scene more interesting.
This concept art then became the basis for our 3D modelling project, for which more details can be found in my 3D models section. "A Gruesome Gargoyle"This is a piece completed for the 'Visual Concepts For Games 2' module on my current University course. It depicts a stone gargoyle coming to life. It's part of a series of designs we were tasked with, revolving around the creation of a character, location, prop and 2D-game variants of each in either a fantasy or futuristic setting. This is the one I am happiest with as I think it marries my usual cel-shaded aesthetic with a slightly more blended and naturalistic one, and that the overall design is suitably creepy.
"Be Afraid, Be Fairly Afraid"This is my entry to Draw With Jazza's Challenge of the Month for November 2016, with the idea being to combine two of the original 151 Pokemon into one original character. I'm not particularly familiar with Pokemon. I'm aware of what it is and its popularity but have never seen the show or played the game(s). I wanted to enter the challenge anyway, because that way it would actually be a challenge.
In the end I went with Jigglypuff and Beedrill, in a scene inspired by the 1986 movie 'The Fly'. The idea was to take the cutest Pokemon i could find and mix it with the most insect like, to create something more gruesome which fit the tone of that film. I felt it was a more unique angle, and am pleased with the piece even though I didn't place anywhere. "Revenge!"This is an illustration, completed on Adobe Flash, that depicts a recently decapitated man declaring that he will have vengeance. This piece was completed in my free-time.
"Zombie in Stocks"This illustration of a zombie confined to stocks was completed in Adobe Flash in my own time. I wanted to design some form of zombie, and decided that having it in stocks would add interest to the piece.
"One Mean Demon"This is an illustration of a demon that I did in my free-time using Adobe Flash. I'm especially pleased with the eyes of the piece, as I feel they look suitably evil and that the shading adds a lot to their ominous nature.
